What You’ll Do as a Digital Product Owner
In your role, you’ll collaborate with different people across a range of skillsets. Here’s a flavour of your day-to-day:
- End‑to‑end product ownership: Accountable for the full product lifecycle including discovery, design, development, optimisation, ongoing operational support, adoption across the organisation, and successful transition into BAU.
- Product strategy & backlog management: Define, maintain, and prioritise the product backlog (where appropriate), ensuring alignment with product strategy, business goals, customer/user needs, wider strategic priorities, and insights from customers, colleagues, data, and market trends.
- Value‑driven prioritisation & cost efficiency: Prioritise features and enhancements based on value, customer and business impact, cost efficiency, and identify opportunities to reduce costs without compromising quality or performance.
- Agile delivery & continuous improvement: Where delivery teams operate using agile practices, be accountable for sprint and release planning, manage cross‑team alignment and dependencies, drive continuous delivery and improvement, and embed product‑led and agile ways of working.
- Technical awareness & transformation support: Keep abreast of emerging technical developments that could enhance or redefine the product and customer experience, and support organisational transformation by educating colleagues across Technology and Primark on agile methodologies and product management.
- Governance, communication & operational readiness: Communicate progress, risks, and opportunities clearly to senior stakeholders and teams; ensure compliance with Primark and ABF governance frameworks, audits, and budgeting policies; and participate in the on‑call rota as required.

What You’ll Bring

- Product & delivery experience: 3–5 years’ experience in Product Ownership, Business Analysis, or Digital/Technology delivery roles, with proven ability to manage product backlogs and roadmaps while working effectively with multi‑disciplinary delivery teams.
- Product shaping & evolution: Proven experience in shaping and growing products, with the ability to clearly articulate product evolution using design thinking, user story mapping, and strong functional and portfolio knowledge of the relevant business areas.
- Agile & product management expertise: Familiarity with agile frameworks (e.g. Scrum, SAFe) and product management practices, combined with experience empowering new ways of working and successfully executing product opportunities.
- Strategic, analytical & innovative mindset: Demonstrates strategic and innovative thinking, with a strong analytical mindset focused on balancing cost, value, and customer experience, and translating emerging, emergent, and established technologies into business opportunities.
- Stakeholder, communication & engagement skills: Excellent business partner and supplier engagement skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with both non‑technical business users and technical colleagues and inspire others to challenge and disrupt the status quo.
- Professional credibility & collaboration: Holds an appropriate degree, equivalent qualification, or experience, and works effectively with multi‑disciplinary development teams across onshore and offshore locations while taking people on the transformation journey.
