Purpose of role
To ensure that the depot operation performs efficiently and effectively to provide a high quality and cost effective service, delivering on all KPIs within budgeted cost.

Working hours
This role will be working 37.5 hours on a Friday - Monday basis.
Key Responsibilities
- To ensure the efficient and effective achievement of all operational targets and key performance indicators.
- Constantly review site performance to drive maximum efficiency and productivity within the warehouse by eliminating waste and risks to the operation.
- Drive and support continuous efficiency improvements across the depot.
- Drive a safety culture whereby each team member operates with safety as the primary concern.
- Maximise accuracy, productivity and space utilisation.
- To adopt and promote a change culture within your team / shift.
- To support the depot succession plan through identifying talent and supporting continuous professional development through coaching and feedback.
- To conduct an objective based personal review twice a year with your Management team.
- To ensure all company policies and procedures around conduct, performance and attendance are followed without exception.
- Ensure compliance to all Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s).
- Team building and morale / engagement management.
- Effective leadership and management of the shift operational and administration teams.
- Analyse shift performance daily using the Plan, do review process.
Essential knowledge, skills and experience
- Experience in formulating action plans to deliver performance improvements.
- Minimum 3+ years’ experience in the logistics industry.
- Proven ability to analyse complex logistical problems and develop improvement plans to include financial cost and benefits.
- Demonstrable experience of working with clients in a positive and collaborative manner.
- Efficient problem solving skills.
- Strong report writing and statistical analysis skills.
- Experience of budget planning and financial management.
- Strong communication skills across all levels, harnessed to the ability to influence peers and senior managers.
- Experience of culture change and managing others through a change process.
- Significant knowledge of health and safety best practice.
- Experience of managing in a large scale, fast moving retail logistics operation.
- Experience of utilising and interrogating Warehouse Management system.
- Performance management / target setting.
- Significant experience of managing complex disciplinary, grievance and appeal hearings.
