What You’ll Do as an Architectural Design manager

  • Ownership of Architectural Standards: Lead the creation, management, and governance of all Primark architectural standards, including lighting, RCPs, façades, external signage, BOH/FOH details, flooring, shopfitting, and service areas (SCO, fitting rooms, cash desks).
  • Shopfitting & Services Content Management: Own all shopfitting and services information (wall systems, fixed equipment, tills, fitting rooms, BOH, C&C), including technical drawings, 3D models, datasheets, registers, and feasibility/tender/production documentation.
  • Cross‑Functional & External Collaboration: Act as the principal architectural contact, working cross‑functionally with construction, design, architects, and third parties to develop and refine all architectural and service details.
  • Guru Platform Development & Governance: Create, test, manage, and maintain architectural, shopfit, and services content within Guru, including beta page creation, hyperlinking, formatting, PK code management, smart blocks, space testing, and adherence to Guru UI and rulebook standards.
  • Quality Control & System Representation: Check, format, prepare, and upload content across all Guru channels (new stores, refits, retrofits, home stores, and new concepts), represent Guru at architectural forums, and incorporate feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Training, Support & Lifecycle Management: Manage stakeholder briefing and content uploads, support system cost approvals, upskill technical support teams, and maintain the full database lifecycle, including version control and archiving of superseded information.

What You’ll Bring

  • Qualifications & Experience: Degree in Architecture or Design (or minimum 5 years’ relevant retail design experience), with proven experience working on comparable retail systems and environments.
  • Retail Architecture Expertise: Strong fluency across retail architecture and shopfitting, including Lighting, RCPs, Façades, External Signage, BOH/FOH standards, Flooring, F&F, and services (SCO, fitting rooms, cash desks).
  • Technical & Design Capability: High level of design skill with solid knowledge of materials and construction methods; proficient in AutoCAD and MS Office, with SketchUp and Adobe applications preferred.
  • Project & Delivery Management: Strong project management capability, able to work under tight deadlines, reprioritise effectively, troubleshoot issues, and deliver projects end‑to‑end with a high level of accuracy.
  • Analytical, Organisational & Leadership Skills: Excellent analytical and organisational skills with strong attention to detail; able to lead, collaborate cross‑functionally, and contribute positively within team environments.
  • Professionalism & Communication: Self‑starter with excellent written and verbal communication skills, proven ability to manage sensitive information confidentially, and maintain high standards in a fast‑paced retail setting.
