To ensure effective quality assurance, compliance, and continuous improvement within an injection moulding manufacturing environment. The Quality Engineer will support zero-defect production, customer satisfaction, and regulatory compliance across moulding, assembly, and testing operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure moulded components and assemblies meet quality, functional, and regulatory requirements
- Support quality control plans, in-process inspections, SPC, capability studies, and gauge validation
- Lead customer complaint investigations using structured problem-solving methods (e.g. 8D, 5-Whys)
- Manage non-conformances, NCRs, CAPAs, concessions, and rework activities
- Support PFMEA, PPAP/FAIR, and validation activities for new or modified tooling and processes
- Provide hands-on quality support to production and assembly areas
- Drive continuous improvement using Lean and Six Sigma tools to reduce scrap, defects, and waste
- Support internal and external audits to ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards
- Maintain quality data, reporting KPIs, trends, and performance metrics
- Support supplier quality, incoming inspection, and material traceability
- Promote health, safety, environmental, and quality compliance across operations
Qualifications, Skills & Experience
Essential
- HNC/HND or Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Plastics, or related discipline
- Experience in injection moulding and high-volume manufacturing environments
- Strong understanding of ISO 9001-based QMS and audit processes
- Competence in root-cause analysis and problem-solving techniques
- Ability to read engineering drawings and understand tolerances/GD&T
- Experience using ERP/MRP systems for quality and traceability
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
Desirable
- Experience with PFMEA, PPAP, Control Plans, SPC, and capability studies
- Six Sigma Green Belt or equivalent
- Experience supporting customer and certification audits
- Knowledge of RoHS, REACH, CE, or similar regulatory standards
