This Account Manager role sits within the Food and Beverage sector and is ideal for someone with strong experience in food, beverage or dairy manufacturing and plant sanitation. The role combines sales responsibility with technical service and consultation, supporting customers across food, beverage and dairy manufacturing environments.

You will work closely with customers as a trusted business partner, helping to improve food safety and product quality, enhance sustainability and drive operational efficiency. This includes developing sanitation plans and programmes, evaluating processes and procedures, troubleshooting technical issues and identifying opportunities to optimise performance.

Covering a defined territory across South UK, this is a field based role offering a high degree of autonomy, where you will plan your own schedule and manage long term customer relationships.

What you will do

  • Build a strong understanding of products, customer plant operations, business objectives and relevant regulatory requirements
  • Develop and execute strategic work plans to meet sales targets and deliver service and consultation visits for new and existing customers
  • Prepare and deliver sales presentations on products, equipment and services
  • Provide technical and industry expertise covering sanitation, safety, quality and operations, including sanitation programmes, standard operating procedures, process evaluation, efficiency improvements and employee training
  • Manage products and equipment, including supporting installations, monitoring performance, making adjustments, carrying out basic repairs, setting chemical concentration levels and managing inventory and ordering
  • Deliver agreed corporate account commitments and proactively communicate results, challenges and initiatives to relevant stakeholders
  • Build strong relationships and communicate effectively with all levels of customer plant staff
  • Adhere to safety guidelines and incident reporting requirements at all times

What we’re looking for

Essential:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in food, dairy or agricultural science, engineering, chemistry or a related field
  • Minimum of two years’ technical sales experience within meat, processed food, dairy and poultry, or beverage and brewing sectors
  • Full UK driving licence with an acceptable motor vehicle record
  • Willingness and ability to travel throughout the territory, including occasional overnight stays and on call support when required
  • Right to work in the UK, as sponsorship is not available for this role

Preferred:

  • Ability to sell value added solutions rather than commodities
  • Confidence working with large national and multinational customers
  • General mechanical aptitude
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
  • Self starter with the ability to work independently and take initiative
