Your Day to Day
- Oversee overall pharmacy operations to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant delivery of pharmaceutical services.
- Lead and support pharmacy staff through hiring input, training, scheduling, performance management, and ongoing development.
- Ensure full compliance with CPBC standards and all provincial/federal pharmacy regulations, including controlled substances management and documentation.
- Supervise prescription processing, dispensing accuracy, inventory control, and workflow optimization.
- Provide clinical oversight, including medication reviews, drug therapy problem identification, prescribing support (where applicable), and patient counseling.
- Act as a key liaison with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers to support integrated patient care.
- Manage pharmacy budgets, monitor KPIs (e. g., efficiency, cost, service levels), and identify opportunities for operational improvement.
- Oversee pharmacy technology systems (dispensing software, EHRs, automation tools) and support process improvements.
- Support audits, inspections, and quality assurance initiatives, ensuring readiness and compliance at all times.
- Contribute to strategic initiatives and operational planning in collaboration with senior leadership.
What You Bring to the Table
- Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm D) or equivalent qualification.
- Active licensure and good standing with the College of Pharmacists of British Columbia (CPBC).
- Minimum 5 years of pharmacy experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
- Strong understanding of pharmacy operations, clinical practice, and regulatory requirements in BC.
- Experience with pharmacy management systems (e. g., Kroll), EHR platforms, and Microsoft Office.
- Demonstrated leadership ability with experience managing teams and improving workflow efficiency.
- Strong clinical judgment, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail with a strong focus on patient safety, compliance, and quality of care.
- Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and perform in a fast-paced environment.
