We have an exciting opportunity to join our Board in a key role of Chair of the Audit and Assurance Committee. This is a chance to use your experience, insight, and lived knowledge to make a real difference to people’s lives. You don’t need prior Board or housing experience — many of our members joined as first time Board Members and have gone on to thrive. We value people with a wide range of backgrounds, including community leadership, finance, housing, public service, commercial sectors, and lived experience of social housing.

  • Bring fresh thinking and different perspectives
  • Make balanced, evidence-based decisions
  • Work collaboratively with others
  • Keep customers and communities at the heart of decisions

A financial qualification is not essential for the Chair of Audit and Assurance Committee role — but financial literacy is important, as is experience of Board level or working alongside a Board if not on a Board previously.

What We Offer

  • Annual remuneration: £5,600 for Chair of Audit
  • Mix of in person and virtual meetings (MS Teams & Liverpool office)
  • Full induction and ongoing development
  • Supportive, inclusive culture
  • Opportunities to contribute to our strategic direction, values and impact

Our commitment to inclusion: We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds. We are particularly keen to hear from candidates who are under‑represented at Board level across the housing sector. If you need adjustments at any stage of the process — or support to participate fully as a Board Member — we will provide them.

Time commitment

Around 12–15 days a year, including quarterly meetings, away days and monthly briefings. These are a mixture of in person and on Teams.
