The Opportunity
We are looking for a Warehouse Operative to join our established Warehouse team on day shift and backshift. You’ll be organized, dependable and comfortable working in a fast-paced Warehouse environment. This is a hands-on role where you’ll deal with all aspects of warehouse work including picking orders, dealing with queries and processing incoming and outgoing goods.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate in a safe manner complying with all health safety and environmental requirements to ensure own and safety of others
- Ensure that all goods that are loaded or unloaded match the relevant paperwork.
- Sort and rotate stock according to established procedures (FIFO).
- Communicate and cooperate with supervisors and co-workers.
- Operate and maintain warehouse forklifts and equipment.
- Report any damage or issue to warehouse managers or supervisors.
- Always follow all instructions of your line manager or the supervisor.
- Ensure that loads are picked in accordance with sales orders and that loads comply with load instructions and customer special requirements.
- To ensure the highest possible levels of customer and supplier care are delivered thereby ensuring excellent levels of customer satisfaction and repeat business.
- Keep a clean and safe working environment and optimise space utilisation.
What we’re looking for
- FLT counterbalance license (essential)
- Proven experience in a Warehouse Operative or similar role
- Ability to accurately complete orders with a flexible approach to duties and tasks
- Good understanding of customer deliverables and the impact of failure/cost of poor service and mistakes
- Good communication skills with a commitment to teamwork and a positive attitude
