This role will be responsible for student recruitment in Kent, Sussex, Surrey, Hampshire, and Berkshire. The post holder will primarily travel to schools and colleges in these counties, with occasional travel to Aberystwyth, schools in the teal areas and other parts of the UK for higher education fairs. The role involves organising and attending recruitment exhibitions, developing links with feeder institutions, delivering talks and workshops, and supporting marketing campaigns for undergraduate and postgraduate students. A full UK driving licence and an undergraduate degree are essential. The position is fixed term and will commence as soon as possible.
What you’ll do:
- Develop and manage relationships with target feeder institutions.
- Deliver presentations to schools and colleges across the UK.
- Collaborate with feeder schools to design an annual programme of activities.
- Assist with planning and coordinating the University’s school/college taster days and other events.
- Represent the University at higher education recruitment events for UG and PG students.
- Support Global Marketing and Student Recruitment in hosting open days and other virtual and physical events.
- Assist in marketing campaigns using electronic and print media.
- Drive initiatives that increase applications to UG and PG programmes.
- Provide market intelligence to inform recruitment activity and CRM development.
- Prepare reports for the Recruitment & Marketing Board and Recruitment Action Group.
- Offer central marketing support to academic departments.
- Work with the Academic Support Officer on recruitment and outreach initiatives.
- Collaborate on the student recruitment strands of the University’s Marketing Strategy.
- Deliver widening participation activities on behalf of the University.
Essential qualifications, experience, knowledge and skills:
- Based in a suitable location within the specified counties.
- Degree‑level education.
- Significant experience in a public‑facing role in marketing, recruitment or sales.
- Understanding of the University’s activities and objectives.
- Highly proficient IT skills across a broad range of applications.
- Analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Strong written and oral communication abilities.
- Ability to work independently with good time management in a non‑office environment.
