This role will be based in Information Technology Services (ITS), a customer‑focused department servicing the IT needs of Aberystwyth University. You will demonstrate an excellent knowledge of Dynamics 365, Power Apps, Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Factory, integrations, APIs, Oracle technologies and SQL. The CRM Developer / Integration Specialist reports to the Head of IT Applications and Development and will develop and support functions for a marketing‑focused Dynamics 365 CRM.

Key duties include:

  • Managing AU Dynamics 365 environments, Power Platform development (Power Apps Portals, Model‑Driven/Canvas Applications), Microsoft Dataverse, CRM forms, Azure Logic Apps and Power Automate.
  • Managing integrations with university systems such as the Admission System (APEX Oracle), Clearing Application (APEX Oracle) and Gecko Event management.
  • Overseeing line‑management, support and training of the Project Support Officer and a System Analyst / Developer.

Responsibilities:

  • Liaise with users in Global Marketing and Recruitment (GMSR) to understand requirements and design CRM and data integration solutions.
  • Work within the AU Dynamics 365 environments, solutions, journeys and integrations.
  • Train the team to use Power Platform development tools, Microsoft Dataverse, Power Automate and SharePoint.
  • Collaborate with other developers to agree data structures and user interfaces.
  • Develop, test, document and support form integrations providing controlled data query and data input functionality.
  • Perform data integrations with Oracle technologies.
  • Provide bilingual data input forms and reports.
  • Develop additional web functionality using Oracle APEX.
  • Develop, test, document and support data processing functions to maintain accurate and reliable data in the CRM and support data exchange.
  • Develop data migration strategies and support transitions to new systems.
  • Take forward new initiatives and ensure best practice.
  • Line‑manage the Project Support Officer and a System Analyst / Developer.
  • Define work, set objectives, organise and delegate tasks to reports based on skills and abilities.
  • Coordinate delivery of own and reports’ work with other teams across the University.
  • Ensure reports participate in the Effective Contribution Scheme (ECS) with clear objectives and smart targets.
  • Engage reports in planning and delivery, fostering a positive, flexible, and productive environment.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Degree level qualification in IT, Computer Science or Software Engineering.
  • Experience of Dynamics 365 solution management and performance tuning.
  • Experience of Power Platform development (Power Apps Portals, Model‑Driven / Canvas Applications), Microsoft Dataverse, Power Automate and SharePoint.
  • Experience of planning, implementation, development, data migration, mapping, loading and transformation.
  • Experience with database systems including Oracle and Microsoft.
  • Experience with development languages such as PL/SQL, Perl, PHP, JavaScript or HTML/CSS.
  • Strong organisational, analytical and problem‑solving skills with ability to prioritise and work under pressure.
  • Oral and written Welsh Level A1* or evidence of ongoing commitment to learn Welsh to this level.
  • Proven managerial skills and ability to motivate self and others.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills, capable of communicating with staff of varying levels.

Desirable:

  • ITIL / Agile Certified / Prince2.
  • Experience working with higher education systems.
  • Experience with reporting dashboards and Power BI.
  • Experience with source control tools.
  • Experience using Oracle APEX.
  • Knowledge of security technologies and data protection / GDPR.
  • Oral and written Welsh Level A2**.
