We are looking for an ECVS boarded Orthopaedic or Soft Tissue Surgeon to join our amazing team at Pride. This full-time (4-day week) position will join our existing ECVS/ACVS specialists, ECVS residents, Interns, and our dedicated Nursing team. Working hours at Pride are typically 8.30am to 6pm and you will be part of the on-call rota which is shared amongst the team and is well supported by residents and interns.
About Us
Pride Veterinary Referrals is part of IVC Evidensia. We are the small animal referral hospital for the Scarsdale Veterinary Group which employs over 300 staff across 10 sites in the East Midlands. Pride is a multi-disciplinary hospital offering specialist led services in anaesthesia, diagnostic imaging, internal medicine, soft tissue and orthopaedic surgery, neurology, oncology, and ophthalmology. We also provide an advanced practitioner led cardiology service, and on-site physiotherapy and hydrotherapy services. The hospital provides 24/7 veterinary care, supported by a dedicated night team. We have 5 operating theatres, a full imaging suite with X-Ray, CT, MRI and Ultrasound, and an on-site Laboratory. We work closely with the University of Nottingham, with the veterinary students rotating through first opinion and referral services at Pride.
About the Team and Culture
The experienced, friendly team of 100+ veterinary professionals at Pride deliver Specialist led care, collaborating to provide the best possible outcome for all our patients. The team provides referral services to external veterinary professionals and to our own first opinion vets. Alongside this, there is a Vets at Night service, well established leadership structure, and support functions such as Client Care, HR, and facilities management.
Applicant Requirements
The successful candidate will be an ECVS or ACVS Diplomate (or board-eligible) in Orthopaedic or Soft Tissue Surgery, confident managing a varied referral caseload within a busy multi-disciplinary hospital. You will enjoy collaborating with colleagues across services, and have an interest in teaching and mentoring residents, interns, and nursing teams. Strong communication skills and a client-focused approach are essential. We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic about supporting and engaging with referring veterinary surgeons, including providing case advice and contributing to CPD. You will also be keen to play a role in the ongoing development of the service and wider hospital while maintaining the high standards of care we provide to our patients and clients.
