We are looking for a passionate and forward thinking Anaesthetist to join our team at Pride. The anaesthetists are involved in the day-to-day clinical tasks of anaesthetising and assisting other departments with analgesia and critical care and after-hours emergency cover. The Anaesthesia team runs weekly tutorials and journal clubs, and the hospital has a weekly clinical club on many different subjects and offers frequent in-house CPD. Our team consists of two Diplomates (one ECVAA and one ACVAA), and two residency-trained clinicians. The department is supported by a team of experienced theatre nurses and we provide a high standard of care through a great working relationship with other departments.
About Us: Pride Veterinary Referrals is part of IVC Evidensia. We are the small animal referral hospital for the Scarsdale Veterinary Group, employing over 300 staff across 10 sites in the Midlands. We offer specialist services in anaesthesia, diagnostic imaging, internal medicine, soft tissue and orthopaedic surgery, neurology, and ophthalmology, with an on-site hydro- and physiotherapy team. The state-of-the-art hospital provides 24/7 veterinary care, supported by a dedicated night team. We work closely with the University of Nottingham, with the veterinary students rotating through first opinion and referral services at Pride. The fantastic facilities include 13 consultation rooms, 7 hospital wards, 5 theatres, full advanced imaging suite (with CT and MRI), 3 ultrasound rooms, interventional radiology capabilities, an endoscopy suite, hydrotherapy pool and treadmills and a dedicated chemotherapy area.
We are located at the edge of Derby city centre with good transport links to major cities via road and rail network. East Midlands Airport and Birmingham International Airport offer convenient access to domestic and international destinations. The beautiful Peak District is just around the corner where there are lots of walking, climbing, and sightseeing opportunities.
About the Team and Culture: The specialist led referrals team comprises over 150 staff dedicated to providing the best care possible to our patients and a first class experience for our clients.
Applicant Requirements: We are seeking a European or American College Diplomate or residency trained clinician for this role. The ideal candidate will have significant experience of operating in a multi-disciplinary referral setting. We are looking for someone who can help us shape the future and who can build strong relationships with colleagues from other disciplines and across the wider referrals division.
