We are looking for an experienced software engineer to take on the role of Technical Lead in our UI team. You will join a small team of four engineers working on the client-facing components of PricingMonkey, a financial analysis application with a feature-rich SPA frontend and multiple backend services. This is a hands‑on role: you will write code alongside leading the work of the other developers, facing unique architectural and performance challenges. Our tech stack includes TypeScript, React, Redux, Node.js, MongoDB, Redis, Kubernetes, serverless. We use agile software development practices inspired by Extreme Programming, including Test-Driven Development, Pair Programming, Continuous Delivery, and DevOps. We value technical excellence, fast feedback loops, collaboration, and shared ownership.

What You’ll Do

  • Drive the technical vision for the team, including the technical roadmap, innovation, and management of technical debt, in alignment with the overall technical and product strategy
  • Lead the team on architecture, performance engineering, code quality, and engineering practices
  • Develop both client-side and server-side components of the application
  • Own the technical operation of the team’s systems, including deployments, monitoring, and incident response

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience leading or influencing developers in a small team
  • A collaborative, people-first leadership style
  • Ability to drive technical decisions
  • Strong technical skills in single-page application development and backend API services
  • Hands‑on experience with modern agile engineering practices, including TDD, pair programming, CI/CD, and shared code ownership
  • Experience with any of the following: Any subset of our tech stack: JavaScript, TypeScript, React, Redux, Node.js, MongoDB, Kubernetes. DevOps and operational ownership. Performance engineering in browser-based SPAs. AI-powered coding tools, like Cursor, Windsurf, or Claude Code.
