As a Senior Manager in the Financial Services team at Strategy&, you will play a central role in solving some of the most complex and commercially critical strategic challenges facing our clients. We work with leading private equity investors, portfolio companies, banks, insurers, wealth and asset managers and high-growth FinTechs on their most pressing priorities — from assessing investment opportunities and testing growth theses to portfolio reshaping, AI-enabled business model reinvention, cost competitiveness and inorganic growth.

You will be central to the delivery of client engagements. This includes framing and structuring ambiguous problems, driving quantitative and qualitative analysis and supporting day-to-day interaction with client stakeholders. You will translate complex analysis into clear, commercially grounded recommendations for Investors, Executive Committees and Boards. Your work will primarily focus on transaction related engagements, including commercial and vendor due diligence, market and competitive assessments, business plan validation, synergy assessment, carve-outs and pre- and post-deal value creation. You will also support related corporate strategy work, including growth strategy, market entry, pricing, product and proposition strategy and operating model design. The work is intellectually demanding, fast-paced and varied. No two engagements are the same.

What your days will look like:

  • Lead commercial due diligence engagements for private equity investors, portfolio companies and corporate clients, providing strategic insights across buy-side, sell-side and vendor transactions.
  • Drive growth and value creation for portfolio companies through market expansion, customer strategy, proposition development, pricing optimisation and go-to-market improvements, while leveraging deep expertise in the financial services sector.
  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with senior stakeholders, including private equity investors, portfolio company executives and corporate leaders, while supporting business development through proposals, pitches and account growth initiatives.
  • Lead and develop high-performing teams across Strategy& and PwC by mentoring junior colleagues, supporting recruitment and training, ensuring delivery excellence under tight transaction timelines, and contributing to the firm's thought leadership and market presence.

This role is for you if:

  • Proven experience in strategy consulting, commercial due diligence, corporate development or M&A-related roles, with strong expertise across banking, insurance, wealth management or asset management sectors.
  • Demonstrated success supporting private equity investors, portfolio companies and corporate clients through investment decisions, transaction processes and value creation initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of financial services market trends, with the ability to develop evidence-based perspectives on sector evolution and its implications for investors, incumbents and challengers.
  • Excellent strategic and analytical problem-solving skills, including the ability to tackle complex, ambiguous issues, structure commercial analysis and assess business plans and growth forecasts.
  • Outstanding communication and stakeholder management skills, with experience presenting complex findings and commercially focused recommendations to senior executives, boards and investment professionals.
  • Proven ability to build, lead and develop high-performing teams, fostering trusted client relationships while providing clear direction, constructive challenge and effective coaching.

What you’ll receive from us:

No matter where you may be in your career or personal life, our benefits are designed to add value and support, recognising and rewarding you fairly for your contributions. We offer a range of benefits including empowered flexibility and a working week split between office, home and client site; private medical cover and 24/7 access to a qualified virtual GP; six volunteering days a year and much more.
