As a finance consulting generalist at PwC, you will possess a broad understanding of various aspects of finance consulting. Your work will involve providing comprehensive guidance and support to clients in optimising their financial performance, improving decision-making, and achieving their financial goals. You will be responsible for analysing client needs, developing financial solutions, and offering recommendations tailored to specific business requirements.

Finance Transformation is a core part of PwC’s Consulting capability, supporting clients to reimagine their finance function (effectiveness, efficiency, insight) through modern technology platforms, operating model transformation, and digital innovation. We work with organisations across industries to define finance strategy, design future operating models, modernise finance processes and technology, and unlock value through data, analytics, automation and AI.

We are seeking a Finance Transformation Senior Associate with previous transformation experience and who sees technology as a key enabler of business change. In this role, you support the design and delivery of large-scale finance transformation programmes, working with client stakeholders to drive sustainable business outcomes, combining strategy, operating model design, and technology-enabled delivery to drive meaningful client outcomes.

What your days will look like:

  • Strategy & Operating Model Design: Support the development of finance vision and strategy, assess the effectiveness of the current operating model and contribute to the design of the target operating models (TOMs) aligned to business objectives, covering organisational structure, governance, service delivery, and capabilities. Support the translation of strategy into clear transformation roadmaps and implementation plans.
  • Business Architecture: Contribute to the development of modern business architectures for finance ensuring alignment across processes, data, technology, processes and controls, and supporting the assessment of future technology trends and innovation.
  • Process Diagnostics & Transformation: Support the assessment of current-state finance processes, identify pain points and contribute to the design of the future-state processes aligned to leading practices, compliance requirements, and digital opportunities.
  • Technology Enablement (Digital Core): Work with clients to support the development of modern finance architectures, moving into implementation of such architectures e.g. contributing to ERP / EPM design and deployment (SAP S/4HANA, Oracle Cloud, Workday), and assist in integrating automation, analytics, and AI to improve process effectiveness and data-driven decision-making.
  • Business Case & Value Realisation: Work with clients to support the development of the business case for change and the realisation of benefits, including analysing changes on the operating model to operating costs, risk, and investment.
  • Stakeholder Management: Support the delivery of workstreams, ensuring alignment with milestones, quality standards, and risk controls. Maintain strong working relationships with global stakeholders in virtual and hybrid delivery environments.
  • Global Delivery & Collaboration: Work effectively within a global team structure, collaborating across time zones and cultures, with the ability to deliver autonomously.
  • Capability Development & Knowledge Sharing: Contribute to internal capability building, tool development, and thought leadership on emerging trends in finance transformation and sector innovation.

This role is for you if:

  • Experience in management consulting, finance transformation, finance operations, business analysis or finance business architecture design.
  • Experience in core finance processes such as P2P, O2C, R2R, and FP&A, with practical involvement in transformation or redesign.
  • Business analysis and/or business architecture capabilities (e.g. process mapping, modelling, systems requirements).
  • Clear communication and collaboration skills across virtual and multicultural teams.
  • Familiarity with finance technology e.g. ERP / EPM systems functionality such as SAP, Oracle, or Workday, and awareness of enablers like AI and analytics.
  • Comfortable working independently and contributing to engagements through global delivery.
  • Experience developing analysis, insights and client facing deliverables.
  • Data visualisation skills (e.g., Power BI, Alteryx).
  • Experience with automation, analytics, or modelling tools (e.g. Python, AI tools, RPA tools).
  • Familiarity with process documentation and mining tools (e.g., Aris, Celonis, Signavio).
  • Knowledge of Agile, hybrid, or Waterfall delivery models.
  • Experience supporting change management and user adoption.
  • Practical experience of deploying AI enabled use cases in Finance.
