About the role:

UK health and care organisations are working through a demanding reform agenda: improving access, productivity, resilience, prevention, digital and data capability, financial sustainability and coordination between national policy and local delivery. This role focuses on the opportunity to join up national health security and NHS reform with local health services, adult social care, children's services, safeguarding, SEND, mental health, public health and private healthcare transformation.

The Senior Manager will help build and lead a distinctive health-focused Enterprise Strategy and Operating Model capability for PwC Consulting in London. The role will support senior clients to make enterprise-level choices, design practical target operating models and mobilise transformation across the UK health and care ecosystem. It is a market-facing role that combines UK healthcare subject matter expertise, consulting delivery leadership, commercial understanding and sales support.

What your days will look like:

  • Lead enterprise strategy, target operating model, organisation design, governance, decision rights, service redesign and transformation roadmap engagements.
  • Act as a credible subject matter expert on the UK healthcare landscape, including UKHSA, NHS England, national NHS bodies, DHSC arm's-length bodies, ICBs/ICSs, provider collaboratives, NHS trusts, local government, social care and private healthcare.
  • Support the identification of business transformation opportunities across urgent and emergency care, discharge, prevention, neighbourhood and community models, mental health, population health, digital front doors and productivity.
  • Develop partnership, governance, benefits, funding and delivery models that help local systems move from strategy to implementation.
  • Create reusable Enterprise Strategy and Operating Model assets for health security, NHS reform, strategic commissioning, ALB effectiveness, integrated neighbourhood health and care, adult and children's social care, and private healthcare growth.
  • Develop and exercise programme commercial understanding to support sales work: qualifying opportunities, shaping propositions, building delivery models, developing proposals and statements of work, supporting pricing, and articulating value to clients.
  • Provide day-to-day management of junior team, managing wellbeing and development and create an inclusive team environment.
  • Build trusted relationships with senior policy, clinical, operational, finance, digital, workforce and transformation leaders across public and private healthcare.
  • Manage engagement risks, dependencies, assumptions and quality reviews in line with PwC delivery standards.

This role is for you if:

  • Demonstrable Consulting experience in enterprise strategy, target operating model, organisation design or business transformation.
  • Strong UK healthcare knowledge, with credibility across NHS, UKHSA, DHSC ALBs, ICBs/ICSs, providers, local government, social care and/or private healthcare.
  • Track record leading complex projects, managing multidisciplinary teams and engaging executive stakeholders.
  • Evidence of business development contribution, including proposition development, proposal writing, commercial shaping and pursuit support.
  • Proficient considerations with data, digital, AI-enabled transformation, workforce, finance, performance and governance.
  • Proven leadership capability with evidence of leading, coaching and mentoring junior members of team.

What you’ll receive from us:

No matter where you may be in your career or personal life, our benefits are designed to add value and support, recognising and rewarding you fairly for your contributions. We offer a range of benefits including empowered flexibility and a working week split between office, home and client site; private medical cover and 24/7 access to a qualified virtual GP; six volunteering days a year and much more.
