We are seeking an experienced and commercially astute Director to join our Financial Services (FS) Tax practice, specialising in Asset & Wealth Management (AWM). The AWM industry is undergoing significant structural transformation. Global assets under management are forecast to grow from USD 139 trillion in 2025 to USD 200 trillion by 2030, driven by the retailisation of private markets, product innovation, and the rapid expansion of European investor reporting. As funds expand into new investor bases and jurisdictions, operational tax complexity is increasing materially, and in-house tax teams are operating with reduced headcount and heightened cost pressure—accelerating demand for outsourced, scalable, and technically robust solutions.

This Director role sits at the heart of that opportunity. The successful candidate will lead the delivery and growth of pan-European investor tax reporting, fund operational taxes, and global tax services across a portfolio of high-profile asset management clients. You will combine deep technical expertise with strong commercial judgement and relationship leadership to position the firm as a trusted strategic partner embedded in clients' operational decision-making.

What your days will look like:

  • Leading complex, multi-workstream engagements across major AWM accounts, acting as both tax delivery lead and engagement relationship lead.
  • Generating sustainable annual UK revenue with a clear growth trajectory. The role requires a balance of delivery leadership (c. 60–80%) and origination activity (c. 20–40%), with a focus on expanding existing client mandates, winning new retailisation and investor reporting clients, and cross-selling broader FS and Deals Tax services.
  • Building and sustaining senior relationships with key decision-makers—including CFOs, Heads of Tax, Heads of Product, and Heads of Operations—across the AWM client base.
  • Driving the automation and standardisation of investor reporting processes, including leading collaboration on technology-enabled solutions to streamline cross-jurisdictional data reuse, reduce risk, and improve margins.
  • People leadership and development - coaching and developing junior and senior professionals through structured mentoring, technical training, and empowerment to lead workstreams independently. The Director will support succession planning, improve retention, and foster a high-performing, resilient team culture.

This role is for you if:

  • You have a deep technical expertise in fund tax, particularly in pan-European investor tax reporting, operational taxes, and the tax issues affecting investment managers and alternative fund structures.
  • You have significant in-house or advisory experience in asset and wealth management, with a strong understanding of how funds and asset managers operate commercially and operationally—not solely from a tax compliance perspective.
  • You have proven commercial acumen and a track record of growing client accounts, including identifying and converting new revenue opportunities.
  • You have strong relationship leadership skills and an established professional network.
  • You have a commitment to innovation and technology-led delivery, with experience or demonstrable interest in automating compliance processes, leveraging data analytics, and building scalable service models.
  • You have proven people leadership capabilities including coaching, mentoring, and developing professionals at all levels.

What you’ll receive from us:

No matter where you may be in your career or personal life, our benefits are designed to add value and support, recognising and rewarding you fairly for your contributions. We offer a range of benefits including empowered flexibility and a working week split between office, home and client site; private medical cover and 24/7 access to a qualified virtual GP; six volunteering days a year and much more.
