About the role

In support of unprecedented growth, PwC's Consulting practice currently has a vacancy in its FS Enterprise Transformation team for a Director who will help lead the Asset Management & Asset Servicing sector team, in the field of Operating Model Design and Implementation resulting from a number of different types of change: core platform change, new product, merger/acquisition, start up, cost reduction, outsourcing, globalisation.

As part of a specialist team, within the wider Financial Services cluster, you will be encouraged to initiate and develop new ideas. Our highly motivated team has an excellent track record of delivering high quality work to major international clients and has ambitious growth plans.

What your days will look like:

Our engagements are consistently part of the global asset management agenda, supporting our clients through fundamental change of their businesses and positively affecting the lives of people all over the world. Typical engagements include:

  • Supporting the CEO and COO of a global Asset Manager to achieve 20% cost reduction across their global operations
  • Review of current and design of future operating model to support the ambitions of the business strategy of a large pension fund manager
  • Scaling-for-growth review of the current state operating model and design of the future state of a large US-based asset manager
  • Design of an operating model for a new Fund Services business, bringing together a leading UK Depositary and Luxembourg-based ManCo business
  • Design of the operating model to support the launch of a new sovereign wealth fund targeted to replace fossil fuel incomes
  • Design and implementation of an operating model to support the pan-european legal entity structure of one of Italy’s biggest asset managers
  • Design of the operating model of a new Southeast Asian state investment fund targeted to provide capital for future infrastructure investment

The role is for you if:

  • Strong experience of operating model design and large change projects preferably within a consulting environment or leading asset management focused business.
  • You will have been able to demonstrate a track record of high-quality design and delivery success in the work you have undertaken to date and be able to articulate the business benefits of the work.
  • In depth experience with asset servicing solutions and services provided incl. State Street, BNY, NT and BNP Securities Services.
  • Understanding of the core investment management platforms and solutions incl. BRS Aladdin, SimCorp Dimension, CRD/State Street Alpha
  • Excellent business knowledge within the whole Asset Management value chain - Front Office, Middle Office as well as Back Office.
  • Experience as a solutions architect and is able to ‘own’ the new business architecture vision on behalf of stakeholders
  • Experience designing future state asset management operating models resulting from a variety of change catalysts such as: core platform change, new product, merger/acquisition, start up, cost reduction, outsourcing, globalisation
  • Excellent track record in the field of the Asset Management value chain, from both internal and outsourced perspective.
  • Excellent track record of Target Operating Model Design and Implementation, including structured business analysis, functional decomposition, sourcing model, data model, organisational model as well as high level technical architecture.
  • Excellent track record of Programme/Project Manager for large complex asset management projects as well as Stakeholder Management.
  • Very strong knowledge of the PMO function, for example, planning, status reporting, SteerCo reporting.
