Our client is a well-established high street firm operating in the Birmingham area, which is seeking an experienced Litigation Solicitor to join at a pivotal stage of growth. The firm already has a busy offering across a number of legal disciplines, acting for both private and commercial clients, and is now looking to recruit an experienced litigator to establish, develop and ultimately lead a new dispute resolution department, meaning that the current arrangement where work is presently being referred elsewhere can be handled within the firm.

This role would suit an ambitious solicitor who is looking to take ownership of a growing caseload while playing a key role in shaping the future direction of the litigation practice. You will handle a broad range of disputes on behalf of both private and commercial clients, including, inter alia:

  • Boundary and neighbour disputes
  • Landlord and tenant disputes
  • Shareholder and partnership disputes
  • Civil litigation
  • Possession and eviction matters
  • Trespass and nuisance claims
  • Contractual disputes

This is a superb client-facing opportunity for an ambitious litigator who has a broad range of experience and who is keen to utilise that knowledge to build a successful litigation offering. As this is initially a standalone role you will likely have accrued circa 5+ years PQE (or equivalent) and will be able to conduct your own matters without direct supervision. You will also be comfortable getting involved in business development and marketing initiatives to help the firm build this offering into a profitable concern, with you heading it up and bringing in additional fee-earner support as the practice develops.

This is a rare opportunity for an experienced Litigation Solicitor to step into a role offering genuine autonomy, influence and leadership potential without the need to guarantee a portable following.
