What do the team do?
The team oversee all financial and accounting operations within the business, ensuring all financial transactions and reports are accurate, timely, and compliant with statutory regulations. This role will be responsible for the collection of client debtors in line with the firm's credit control policies and procedures.
What will I be doing?
As a Credit Controller you will have ownership of the following tasks:
- Working with the Credit Control team to ensure that cash collection targets are met.
- Keeping track of clients with high-risk credit ratings and ensuring the relevant partner and Head of Credit Control are aware.
- Chasing clients for payment of outstanding fees via telephone, statements, letters and email.
- Completing monthly and quarterly debtor reviews with relevant portfolio holders.
- Identifying and communicating debts which may be difficult to recover and any potential bad debt provision requirements to the Head of Credit Control.
- Providing assistance in legal debt collection matters.
What experience do I need?
Whilst having the following experience is advantageous, we value passion and potential. If you meet the minimum criteria listed below and are eager to develop yourself, we would love to hear from you:
- Qualified with the Institute of Credit Management (minimum criteria).
- Understanding of the regulation surrounding client monies, in line with both the ICAEW and IPA guidance (minimum criteria).
- Conscientious and good attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Time management: the ability to work to and meet deadlines.
- Strong IT skills.
