It works to understand the investment implications of environmental, social and governance (ESG) factors and to support its international network of investor signatories in incorporating these factors into their investment and ownership decisions.

Job Description

The Senior Responsible Investment Ecosystems Manager for the UK will be responsible for managing the PRI’s relationships with its UK-based signatories and stakeholders cultivating a strong and engaged community of responsible investors.

As the primary point of contact for UK signatories, the Senior Manager plays a pivotal role in building trust and relevance with the investor community. The role combines relationship management, strategic outreach, public representation, and delivery of local engagement, including events and campaigns aligned with PRI’s global mission.

This is an externally facing, high-impact role well suited to someone who thrives in a mission-driven environment and brings both relationship-building skills and strategic insight into the UK investment landscape.

Core Responsibilities

Signatory Relationship Management

  • Serve as one of the lead relationship managers for UK signatories, acting as a trusted advisor and strategic liaison
  • Deliver tailored engagement that reflects signatories’ priorities, levels of maturity in responsible investment, and sector-specific needs
  • Coordinate across PRI teams to ensure UK signatories are supported in navigating PRI’s offerings, tools, guidance and collaborative initiatives
  • Capture and share signatory insights to inform PRI’s internal strategy, content development and market positioning

Signatory Growth & Ecosystem Expansion

  • Identify and engage prospective signatories across the UK investment value chain, including asset owners, managers, insurance companies, and service providers
  • Develop outreach strategies to onboard and integrate new signatories, aligned with PRI’s broader goals for ecosystem development
  • Drive the delivery and implementation of UK & Ireland business plans, ensuring alignment with broader organisational priorities and responsiveness to market-specific needs.
  • Build intelligence on the UK market to identify where PRI can have the most impact and where responsible investment practices are gaining traction
  • Contribute to strategic pipeline planning, reporting and tracking using PRI’s CRM (Salesforce)

Events & Public Representation

  • Design and deliver high-quality events, roundtables and workshops to share insights, facilitate dialogue and deepen engagement with PRI’s UK community
  • Represent PRI at external forums and conferences, contributing to discussions that shape responsible investment practice in the UK
  • Act as an ambassador for PRI’s mission and values, helping to strengthen the organization’s visibility and credibility in the region
  • Monitor trends in regulation, policy and market dynamics that affect UK-based investors, sharing timely insights internally
  • Maintain relationships with a wide range of stakeholders including regulators, industry associations, NGOs, and academic institutions
  • Collaborate with PRI’s regional policy team to support relevant policy advocacy efforts and align PRI’s public engagement with UK developments

Cross-functional Coordination

  • Work closely with colleagues across various PRI functions to ensure coordinated delivery, especially Policy, Reporting & Assessment, Investment Practices and Policy & Research.
  • Contribute to global campaigns, publications and consultations, ensuring the UK perspective is well represented
  • Support internal learning by sharing best practices and lessons learned from the UK market

Person Specification

  • Sector Knowledge: Experience in the asset management and/or financial sector, preferably within the Asset Owner or Investment Management community. Knowledge of the UK sustainable finance policy, regulatory trends, and investor networks.
  • Client Focus: Understands how PRI’s services align with signatory needs and strategic priorities. Applies market intelligence to strengthen engagement, drive value creation, and identify new opportunities.
  • Collaboration: Builds trust and alignment across internal and external stakeholders; shares knowledge and responds constructively to feedback.
  • Communication: Clearly conveys complex information to diverse audiences; adapts tone and style to context and communicates with clarity and impact.
  • Analytical Skills: Brings impartial, evidence-based insights to identify and resolve challenges; balances rigour with pragmatism and ensures the quality and relevance of outputs.
  • Development: Proactively seeks feedback and learning opportunities; uses external best practices to challenge assumptions and enhance performance.
  • Efficiency: Manages time and delivery effectively; takes a methodical approach to planning, execution, and knowledge-sharing to support consistent, high-quality outcomes.
  • IT/Digital Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, some knowledge of CRM/Salesforce, Asana, and other digital tools.
  • Travel: The successful candidate must be comfortable working in a remote and cross-functional environment with regional and international travel to support relationship-building, ecosystem development, and internal collaboration across markets.
  • Education: A university degree or equivalent in a relevant field (e.g. finance, economics, sustainability, public policy), or a recognised investment or finance qualification (e.g. CFA, CAIA, IMC) is desirable but not essential.
  • Languages: Full professional proficiency in English is required. Language skills, other than English, are desirable
