Sole Legal Counsel role with a leading technology company. You will be a confident and commercially minded legal professional, responsible for providing in-house legal support across the business. Working closely with the CFO and wider leadership team, you will lead on contract negotiation, legal risk management and compliance. This role requires sound judgement, excellent drafting skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
Responsibilities
- Draft, review and negotiate commercial contracts, including SaaS agreements, partner and supplier contracts, and data processing agreements.
- Provide legal input on regulatory and risk matters (UK, Australia and other territories).
- Support procurement and contract lifecycle processes.
- Advise on IP, licensing, and data privacy (including GDPR compliance).
- Manage external counsel where appropriate (e.g. M&A, litigation, regulatory).
- Maintain standard templates and ensure legal documentation is consistent and up to date.
- Provide internal training and guidance on contract and legal risk matters.
- Liaise with leadership on legal risk management and input into Board reporting as needed.
Key Requirements
- Qualified solicitor (England & Wales, Scotland, or equivalent jurisdiction) ideally with experience in SaaS, tech or software.
- Strong experience in commercial contract negotiation and legal drafting.
- Good knowledge of data protection (UK GDPR).
- Able to operate autonomously and advise senior leadership with confidence.
- Comfortable working in a high-growth, PE-backed environment.
