Leading global law firm are looking to hire an Associate level lawyer with circa 5+ PQE to join their high-ranking Corporate team based in Glasgow. The corporate team works with clients at the forefront of strategic development advising on mergers, acquisitions, disposals, flotations, takeovers, buy-ins and buyouts, joint ventures and investments.
The team’s detailed knowledge and close working relationships with other professionals enables them to achieve the right structure for deals and to bring together appropriate funders and entrepreneurial investors. The corporate team specialises in the following areas:
- M&A
- Corporate Finance
- Private Equity
- AIM
- Joint Ventures
Additionally, they have a strong private equity practice operating as part of a national team advising a range of private equity institutions and management teams. The Corporate team also have extensive experience of advising on public takeovers, both recommended and contested; flotations/initial public offerings; secondary issues including rights issues, placings and open offers; private placements; corporate governance; compliance with companies, securities and financial services legislation including the Listing Rules of the UK Listing Authority and the City Code on Takeovers and Mergers.
The corporate team has also undertaken an increasing amount of cross border work and recently have undertaken deals in Germany, Hungary, Holland, South Africa and East Africa, United States, Poland, France, Spain, Sweden, Turkey and Italy. The team also have a strong sector focus in Advance manufacturing & Technology, Energy, Infrastructure, Life Sciences, Retail and Consumer Goods, and Insurance and Financial Services.
Candidate Requirements
- Strong background in transactional corporate or corporate finance law.
- Circa 5+ PQE.
- Team player with a strong client focussed approach.
