Suitable candidates will have strong academics and will have ideally 2-5 years PQE in construction law undertaken at a leading practice recognised for construction or Real Estate work. Candidates will therefore have a good grounding in non-contentious construction law which should include building work, preferably with process plant, energy and utility and/or infrastructure experience. We would however consider applications from exceptional candidates who have gained at least six months construction experience during their training contract or post qualification at a leading practice recognised for construction or Real Estate work for this role.
This is a high performing, cohesive and busy team with a strong reputation for providing associates with early levels of responsibility within a supportive and stretching environment and therefore you can expect to take a leading role on some matters. At this stage in your career the team will take a genuine interest and support you with your development therefore offering excellent career prospects.
Candidate Requirements
- Ideally 2-5 years PQE in construction law, ideally set in construction or projects and gained within a comparable environment and at an appropriate level.
- Experience of drafting a variety of construction documents and experience of JCT contracts (or other standard forms such as NEC3) as a minimum.
- The ability to actively support complex transactions, liaising and coordinating with fee earners from other relevant disciplines as needed.
- The ability to contribute to the general upkeep of the group (whether that be to training, precedents, or know-how generally).
