Job Description

Preventr is a leading national full-service fire safety specialist. Due to growth we are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Passive Fire Stopping Engineer to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of fire protection systems and must be familiar with BM TRADA and/or FIRAS accreditation schemes.

You will be responsible for the installation and maintenance of passive fire protection measures in accordance with relevant standards, specifications, and third-party certification schemes. This role is ideal for a highly motivated individual with a passion for compliance and high-quality workmanship.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install and inspect passive fire protection systems including fire and acoustic seals, batt and mastic, pipe collars, fire boards, and cavity barriers.
  • Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with BM TRADA and/or FIRAS requirements and relevant British Standards (e.g., BS 476, BS EN 1366).
  • Complete accurate reports and photographic evidence of installations using digital platforms.
  • Maintain high standards of safety, quality, and compliance at all times.
  • Liaise with site managers, clients, and other trades on-site to ensure seamless integration of fire stopping works.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and company vehicle to a high standard.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in passive fire protection/fire stopping.
  • BM TRADA or FIRAS accredited.
  • CSCS card (essential).
  • NVQ Level 2 in Passive Fire Protection (essential).
  • Good knowledge of fire safety legislation and building regulations.
  • Ability to work from technical drawings and specifications.
  • Strong attention to detail and record-keeping.
  • Full UK driving licence (essential).
  • UK right to work
