  • This position is contingent upon award
  • Primary Duties
  • Identify and catalogue new and existing Emerging and Disruptive Technologies (EDTs).
  • Support assessment of EDT implications and adoption opportunities in support of the Warfare Development Agenda.
  • Promote increased experimentation of EDT-based solutions in realistic environments.
  • Provide and coordinate input to programming of EDTs activities within the organization in support of NATO’s foresight, policies, multinational solutions, capability development, training, and education.
  • Influence and exploit EDTs that address identified capability shortfalls and those significantly impacting available capabilities.
  • Provide and coordinate input to the production and delivery of EDTs advice that informs NATO’s strategic foresight analysis efforts and subsequent capability and force development efforts, including capability requirements formulation, concept development and experimentation and Analysis of Alternatives (Ao A).
  • Identify capability shortfalls that could benefit from adoption of EDTs by analyzing the NATO Defense Planning Process products, the operational Lessons Learned and in coordination with other organization staff.
  • Educate HQ staff on the opportunities and risks associated with EDTs.
  • Organize and manage a knowledge base through sustained provision of the current status of EDT adoption for Warfare Development and to enable information exchange between strategic EDT stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Required Qualifications
  • A Bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science, information and communication technology or closely related STEM discipline and 4 years post-related experience.
  • Minimum six (6) years' experience in the acquisition, assembly, and interpretation of research & technology information.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Science & Technology information sources in nations, for example defense research laboratories, academic institutions, media, and defense ministries.
  • Demonstrated experience in interpreting future S&T and EDT-related information in order to assess how such technologies may be applied within the military environment and adopted to address current and future operational challenges.
  • Demonstrated practical experience with PC office automation products, including the use of internet for information research.
  • Proven and sustained ability to conduct analytical work on EDT documentation, identify adoption pathways, and develop practical examples of how emerging technologies can be applied to the conflicts of today and tomorrow.
  • Possess Secret Security Clearance
  • US Citizen
  • Possess current US/NATO Member Country Passport
  • Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrated ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels, including senior leadership, internal teams, and external S&T agencies.

This includes providing briefings, coordinating engagements, and ensuring effective communication during mission execution.

  • Possess a familiarity with the organization and hierarchy of the military rank/grade structure.
