We are seeking an individual with 5 – 7 years of relevant working experience for the role of Project Controller. This role will support the development of pricing strategies including costing models and risk management, financial management practices, and contract processes that support business growth, profitability, and compliance. The role requires close collaboration with Sales, Finance, Legal, and Operations teams to ensure pricing models and contracts are commercially sound, compliant, and aligned with organisational objectives. Experience with government pricing and contracting is desirable.
Pricing Strategy & Financial Management
- Develop, refine, and maintain pricing models, tools, and guidelines to optimise revenue, margin, and market competitiveness.
- Analyse market trends, competitor activity, contract structures, and historical data to inform pricing decisions and scenario modelling.
- Monitor pricing and contract performance, recommending adjustments based on profitability, cost changes, or market conditions.
- Provide financial analysis and reports to senior stakeholders, including profit margin analysis, forecasting, and cost-benefit analysis.
- Support project teams in the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
- Track and report on financial targets and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Ensure compliance with applicable regulations, pricing standards, and commercial bid requirements, including authority-specific pricing requirements.
Contracts Management
- Lead the preparation and negotiation of contracts, subcontracts, MSAs, NDAs, and agreements with external partners across various regions.
- Maintain accurate records of all contracts, agreements, and legal documents, tracking renewals, amendments, and compliance issues.
- Evaluate and negotiate key government contract types (CPFF, FFP, T&M), developing pricing strategies and commercial terms that enhance competitiveness, maximise profitability, and align with company policies.
- Develop and maintain standard contract templates, playbooks, and negotiation guidelines to streamline processes.
- Review existing contracts to identify risks, gaps, and opportunities for improvement.
Risk & Collaboration
- Identify potential financial, legal, and operational risks within contracts and pricing structures, and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams - including Sales, Legal, Finance, and Operations - to support bids, proposals, and end-to-end deal execution.
- Act as a key point of contact for internal stakeholders and external partners on pricing and contractual matters.

Key Skills & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or other related field.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in pricing, contract management, financial management, or commercial operations.
- Strong financial acumen with the ability to analyse pricing data, budgets, costs, and profitability.
- Experience developing pricing strategy/models for B2G and B2B proposals for high value projects.
- Previous experience managing government contracts across the full lifecycle, from initial solicitation and negotiation through execution, compliance, and closeout, including mitigating contractual risk.
- 3+ years of experience in the defence and intelligence sector required, with experience in QDC/QSCs advantageous.
- Knowledge of relevant industry regulations and compliance requirements, with familiarity of international export control regimes, including UK Strategic Export Controls, US ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations), managing licensing requirements, and mitigating regulatory risk across cross-border defence programmes highly advantageous.
- Experience working in public sector procurement with understanding of Defence Conditions (DEFCONS), Defence Forms (DEFORMS), Defence Acquisition Regulations (DARS) and Federal Acquisition Regulations (FARS).
- Experience with government contracting and supporting government contract negotiations for the entirety of the contract lifecycle.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and contract management/procurement tools/software.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong organisational skills with high attention to detail.
