Pretzl is redefining what a B2B marketing agency can be. As a B2B Technology-and-People-as-a-Service (TaPaaS) agency with approx. 350 people globally, we are not just advising clients - we are building the technology that transforms how businesses connect with their buyers. Our flagship product, Journey Lab, is changing the game for buyer journey optimisation. We need engineers who care deeply about the problems we are solving, not just the tickets they are assigned.
The Role
We are looking for a Senior Engineer (Level 3) to join our Journey Lab squad. This isn’t a role for someone who just wants to be handed requirements and churn out code. We need engineers who want to be deeply involved in shaping products - working alongside our product team as they turn user feedback into opportunities, then collaborating to define and build the right solutions. You will be a technical leader within a tight-knit team of 4 developers, 1 designer, and 1 product owner. You will own complex features end-to-end, contribute to the architectural direction of the platform, mentor other engineers, and actively influence how we build products - from discovery through to deployment. This is a fully remote role with the expectation to travel to London a maximum of once per month.
What You’ll Actually Do
- Technical Leadership
- Own delivery of medium-to-large features from design collaboration through to production deployment
- Use AI tooling thoughtfully - treating tools like Cursor as collaborators that help you explore solutions through questioning, not shortcuts that bypass understanding
- Make architectural decisions within your domain and clearly articulate trade-offs
- Design solutions that are maintainable, testable, and appropriately scalable
- Lead debugging efforts for complex issues and identify systemic problems, not just symptoms
- Write code that serves as an example for the team
- Work directly with product leadership and your squad to shape solutions that meet user needs
- Take ambiguous problems and define the technical approach
- Communicate technical concepts and trade-offs clearly to non-technical stakeholders
- Proactively identify and raise risks before they become critical
- Actively mentor engineers, investing in their growth through pairing, code reviews, and feedback
- Create opportunities for others to take on stretch work
- Champion engineering best practices within the team
- Contribute to hiring and onboarding activities
What We’re Looking For
- Genuine interest in product and product evolution - we need people who care about the "why," not just the "what"
- Strong experience with modern web technologies (our stack: SvelteKit, TypeScript, Postgres, AWS, Kubernetes, Docker)
- Proven ability to own and deliver complex features independently
- Excellent communication skills - you can adapt your style for technical and non-technical colleagues alike
- Track record of mentoring and developing other engineers
- Pragmatic approach to technical trade-offs and technical debt management
- Confident using AI development tools (e.g., Cursor) to enhance your workflow while maintaining code quality and understanding
Nice to Have:
- Experience in B2B marketing or related domains
- Previous experience working in product-led engineering teams
Deal-breakers:
- If you are looking for a role where you just pick up tickets and code, this isn’t for you
- If you are not interested in collaborating with product and design, this isn’t for you
Sustainable Pace, Real Balance
We believe great work happens when people have space to live their lives. No crunch culture, no expectation to be always-on. We trust you to do excellent work within reasonable hours. We have offices across the UK with a hybrid working policy, and are open to remote applicants if you are not located close to an office.
We’re Not a Feature Factory
We operate as a passionate, autonomous product team. You will work collaboratively from feedback capture through definition and solution build. Your input matters at every stage.
