Are you a Residential Property Solicitor looking to build a long-term career within a supportive law Firm, working with highly skilled colleagues? We are looking for a solicitor to work within our residential property team, offering our clients expert legal advice, to deliver great results and peace of mind. Applications are sought from residential property solicitors who are confident handling a caseload of good quality residential files. The role
To support the head of department with all legal aspects of buying, selling, or remortgaging a home, ensuring a smooth, legally sound transfer of property ownership by managing contracts, searches, finances (like Stamp Duty), and liaising with solicitors/conveyancers, agents, lenders, Land Registry, or any other parties that may be involved in such transactions.
Responsibilities
- Acting for buyers and sellers on freehold and leasehold sales and purchases
- Reviewing, drafting, and amending contracts, deeds, reports, and client letters
- Title review, raising/answering enquiries, submitting searches and handling HMLR formalities
- Managing exchange, completion, and post-completion
- Advising on remortgages, mortgage redemption, transfers of equity and secured lending
- Handling residential licences and advising on new-build transactions
- Contributing to BD/marketing and client relationship growth
The ideal candidate
- A UK qualified Solicitor registered with the Solicitors Regulation Authority
- Strong technical knowledge and attention to detail
- A client-focused, commercial approach
- The ability to manage files independently while contributing to a collaborative team
- Clearly communicates complex legal matters in everyday terms
- Confident in the use of IT systems, particularly Word and Excel
- Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
- The ability to work from our office in Ipswich full time
