You will be employed by Pretty Lavish. As part of your role, you will support and perform duties for both Pretty Lavish and Nobl.
Pretty Lavish continues to emerge within the fashion industry bridging the gap between high street and designer brands. Recognised for our sophisticated occasionwear, luxury knitwear and more recently our sleek and modern bridesmaids collection. We strive to make luxury affordable by designing quality, timeless and versatile designs that can be worn day to night, season to season and loved for years to come.
We are looking for a creative and trend aware individual to join us on a maternity cover basis and join our exciting journey in this role.
Role Overview
We are looking for a Multi-Product Designer to join our design team on a maternity cover basis. This role will primarily focus on knitwear design across womenswear and menswear, while also supporting across woven categories and outerwear where needed. Working closely with Design, Buying, Tech and Merchandising, you will help develop commercially relevant collections that align with brand strategy, customer mindset and seasonal stories. This is a fantastic opportunity for a commercially minded designer with strong knitwear experience who enjoys working across multiple product categories within a fast-moving fashion environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Knitwear Design
- Lead the design and development of knitwear collections across womenswear and menswear
- Research seasonal trends, yarn innovations and knit techniques
- Develop knitwear concepts from initial idea through to final sample
- Work closely with suppliers on yarn selection, stitch development and garment construction
- Create clear and accurate technical packs and development documentation
- Support the wider design team across woven categories including dresses, tops, bottoms and outerwear
- Contribute to seasonal range planning and product mix
- Assist with fabric sourcing, trims and product development
- Work closely with Product Developers and suppliers throughout the sampling process
- Review and comment on samples during fit sessions and product reviews
- Ensure designs are commercial, technically viable and aligned with cost targets
- Partner with Buying, Merchandising and Marketing teams to ensure product aligns with commercial strategy
- Contribute to seasonal design direction and collection storytelling
- Support in preparing design presentations and internal reviews
Skills & Experience
- Proven experience as a Fashion Designer with knitwear experience
- Ability to design across multiple product categories
- Strong understanding of yarns, stitch techniques and knit garment construction
- Experience working with overseas suppliers and factories
- Excellent knowledge of Adobe Illustrator and design software
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
- Commercial awareness with a good understanding of customer-led product development
- Commercially minded with strong attention to detail
- Proactive and solution-focused
- Collaborative team player with strong communication skills
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment
