Role Overview

The Head of Finance and Operations will play a critical leadership role in driving both financial performance and operational excellence within a fast-paced retail environment. This role combines strategic financial oversight with end-to-end operational management to ensure profitability, efficiency, and scalability. The ideal candidate will bring a deep understanding of retail business models, consumer behaviour, and data-driven decision-making to support sustainable growth.

We are seeking an experienced and commercially astute Head of Finance and Operations to lead our finance and operations teams and help shape the future of our retail business. This hands-on leadership role requires a detail-oriented and strategic thinker with a proven track record in financial planning and analysis, operational efficiency, and retail performance management. You will be responsible for ensuring robust financial controls, driving cost efficiencies, and aligning operations with business objectives across stores, online channels, and the supply chain.

Strategic Financial Leadership

  • Develop and implement financial strategies to support growth, profitability, and long-term plans.
  • Partner with the founders and leadership team to drive financial performance and strategic decision-making.
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and scenario planning with a focus on sales performance, net margins, and inventory turnover.
  • Deliver actionable insights to improve store productivity, category profitability, and overall P&L performance.

Financial Reporting & Compliance

  • Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial reports, statements, and regulatory filings in compliance with relevant standards.

Cash Flow & Risk Management

  • Oversee cash flow planning, investment activities, and banking relationships to maintain the company’s financial health.
  • Identify and manage financial and operational risks whilst ensuring robust internal controls are in place.
  • Lead and improve operational processes across online store and 3PL.
  • Drive the automation of processes and reporting systems to improve accuracy, reduce manual work, and enhance operational efficiency.

Manage, mentor, and develop the finance and operations team to ensure high performance, continuous improvement, and a collaborative, high-performing team culture.

Experience in a senior finance and/or operations role, with at least 3 years in the retail sector.

Professional qualification such as CPA, ACCA, CIMA, or CFA.

Proven success in managing operations, inventory, and financial planning (preferably in fashion retail).

Commercial mindset with the ability to translate data into business decisions.
