Responsibilities
- Report to the Technician Team Leader and work as part of a high‑performing group of multi‑skilled techs responsible for providing general fabric maintenance to Pret shops, ensuring they remain well‑loved and compliant.
- Use your experience and knowledge to complete various jobs within agreed SLAs, causing minimal disruption to shop operations.
- Minor fabric repairs and painting.
- Damaged plaster, brick slips and minor wall repairs.
- Ironmongery – doors, locks, handles, etc.
- Minor tiling and grouting repairs.
- Trim and beading repairs.
- Levelling door mats and threshold repairs.
- Re‑fixing skirting boards.
- Replacing ceiling tiles and grids.
- Replacement of toilet seats.
- Re‑sealing silicone seals on sinks/toilets.
- Unblocking toilets and sinks.
- Chair, table and bench repairs.
- Maintain lighting and replace lamps and fittings.
- Maintain a clean, organised work area, including waste disposal and proper storage of tools and materials.
- Comfortable working at height and using a range of tools and equipment.
- Basic computer skills – able to use a hand‑held device for reporting.
- Communicate effectively with shop teams and colleagues about project progress and any issues that arise.
- This permanent role covers all Pret shops within the estate; nationwide travel may be required from time to time.
- Work a rota system with hours between 7 am – 7 pm Monday to Friday and 8 am – 4:30 pm Saturday and Sunday; flexibility is required.
Qualifications
- At least two years of experience in a similar environment.
- Relevant trade qualification preferred (e.g. NVQ, City & Guilds).
- Experience knowing when and how to escalate highly sensitive reactive maintenance issues.
- Fast response and concise communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills and a positive ‘can‑do’ attitude.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Capacity to communicate with people at all levels.
