What we’re looking for

We’re looking for an experienced Finance Manager to join us on a 15 Month Maternity cover, who will be responsible for ensuring high-quality financial reporting and control across Pret's US and International markets. The role will lead a team responsible for delivering accurate and timely management accounts, maintaining robust balance sheet control, and providing insightful financial analysis to support decision-making.

Key responsibilities

  • Oversee the monthly management reporting process for Pret's US and International markets, ensuring all key activities are completed accurately and on time to deliver high-quality financial results.
  • Review monthly P&Ls, balance sheet reconciliations, journals and supporting schedules, challenging assumptions and ensuring the integrity of reported results.
  • Analyse financial performance, including actual versus budget and forecast variances, and prepare concise, insightful commentary for senior stakeholders.
  • Lead, coach and develop a team responsible for accounting transactions and month-end close activities, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement and 'no surprises'.
  • Ensure strong financial controls are maintained and accounting issues are identified, investigated and resolved in a timely manner.
  • Partner with stakeholders across the business to ensure operational and commercial developments are understood and appropriately reflected in the financial results.
  • Remain hands-on where required, supporting the team with the preparation of reconciliations, schedules, journals and financial analysis to ensure successful delivery of reporting deadlines.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes, improve controls and enhance the quality and efficiency of financial reporting.
  • Support the delivery of wider finance projects, systems improvements and strategic initiatives as required.

Every interview process at Pret begins with a relaxed 30-minute conversation with our recruitment team. Next, you’ll be invited to a one-hour, in-person interview with the hiring manager at our Head Office in London Victoria. Depending on the role and function, there may be additional stages.
