We’re growing fast on our mission to be the employer of choice in hospitality, everywhere we operate – so this is an exciting time to hop on board.

We Believe in Growing Good Things. Growth is at the heart of everything we do. From the freshly hand-made food we create every day, to supporting our teams, we help our people grow in confidence, skills and to pursue their unique paths. Pret is where passionate, hardworking, wonderful people (like you!) find what they need to shine. And the proof is in the pudding – over 80% of our managers started on the shop floor! So did 20% of our Support Centre teams, including our CEO, Pano.

What we’re looking for: A Construction Project Manager to join a team delivering new store openings and refurbishments across the UK. The role oversees projects from feasibility and design through on-site execution and handover, ensuring each shop meets Pret’s standards for quality, safety and operational readiness. Working closely with acquisition teams, consultants, contractors and internal stakeholders, this role drives efficient, compliant and cost-effective project delivery to support Pret’s growth and investment in its estate. The role is based out of our head office in London Victoria with Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays as our core days. Two days a week are hybrid and or on site depending on project requirement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Acquisition Team by assessing the feasibility of potential new site locations, identifying risks, projecting timelines and budgets, and contributing to efficient, scalable and sustainable expansion across the UK & Ireland.
  • Oversee end-to-end new store construction projects from initial feasibility and design coordination through to handover and permissions to trade, ensuring all stores are delivered to Pret’s quality and operational standards.
  • Manage project timelines, budgets and quality, ensuring projects are delivered on schedule and within approved financial parameters.
  • Lead and coordinate external partners including contractors, architects, engineers and specialist consultants to ensure seamless project delivery.
  • Deliver a proportion of the UK & I renovation programme, ensuring compliance with CDM regulations and all relevant legal standards, while managing out-of-hours refurbishment works with minimal disruption to operations.
  • Build, manage and maintain strong supplier and contractor partnerships to ensure cost effectiveness, reliable performance and consistent quality.
  • Collaborate closely with consultants throughout the pre-construction phase, ensuring accurate reporting of key milestones and project readiness.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, providing clear updates, reports and expectations throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Drive high standards of quality, efficiency and continuous improvement across all construction and refurbishment activities.
  • Ensure timely and thorough project close-out, including final inspections, documentation and handover to operational teams.
  • Track project costs for benchmarking, open up visibility and highlight areas to focus cost management control.

Experience & Skills Required:

  • Experience managing multi-site retail or hospitality construction projects.
  • Experience working on construction projects within travel hubs (e.g., airports, train stations) is desirable but not required.
  • Capability across both pre-construction oversight (feasibility, design, planning) and on-site delivery (execution, contractor management).
  • Thorough understanding of CDM regulations, compliance requirements and industry best practices.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder-management and leadership skills with the ability to influence and collaborate across diverse teams.
  • Strong commercial awareness with experience building and managing supplier/contractor relationships to drive value and quality.
  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach and a passion for delivering exceptional results while upholding Pret’s brand and operational standards.

About you:

  • Be kind, honest and generous: bring genuine warmth and your authentic self to work every day.
  • Bring your passion: share our passion for food and exceptional customer service.
  • Spread joy every day: small acts of kindness are a big part of what makes the Pret experience special.

  • Gold Card: When you’re in the office, your food and drinks are on us. And when you’re not, you can use your Gold Card to get up to 5 Barista-made drinks a day, and 50% off everything else (food, snacks, bottled drinks – the lot).
  • 33 days of annual leave (including flexible Bank Holidays), increasing to 38 days the longer you’re with us.
