We are recruiting for an enthusiastic and highly motivated Project Manager to join our dedicated Projects and Facilities team. You will manage and direct staff and contractors in the planning, development, delivery and maintenance of airport-based systems and infrastructure, providing specialist support to all airport departments in delivering and project managing cost effective innovative technical solutions to all areas of the business.
This is a full‑time permanent position, working 40 hours per week, Monday – Friday, reporting directly to the Head of Facilities and Projects.

To be considered for the role you must be able to:
- Provide technical and project management support across the various airport departments.
- Scope, develop & deliver project request documentation and create invitation to tender documents.
- Provide costed solutions to identified business needs for airport departments.
- Provide management oversight of technical projects and the project management process.
- Take the lead in the planning, monitoring, forecasting and the general management of the airport capital expenditure budgets.
- Ensure all projects are adequately managed, documented and protected to ensure required compliance, availability, resilience, and performance within budgetary constraints.
- Ensure the effective and safe delivery of projects during development and that their acceptance into operational service.
- Maintain competence with developments in the industry, making recommendations to management for employing such technology where appropriate.
- Assist in the preparation of weekly and monthly reports, input to compliance, CEO and Board reports for the release of capital investment funds.
- Ensure that all relevant permits, safety cases, CDM documentation, risk assessments and method statements have been obtained and documented before any work takes place.
- Prepare Work in Progress (WIP) Safety Plans that ensure the continued safe operation of the airport to staff, customers and passengers as required.
- Monitor, audit and develop relationships with sub‑contractors.
- Liaise with other departments to ensure the safe and effective delivery of service to our customers and airlines.
- Provide reports on financial, operational and safety performance where required.
- Support the airport Health, Safety & Environmental goals through the implementation of energy efficiency schemes and initiatives.
- Be conversant with GPA Railway Operating Manual and responsibilities and tasks listed within.
- Deliver projects in line with sustainability targets, including reduction of carbon, energy consumption, and cost.
- Develop and lead project pipelines in relation to the airport’s environmental responsibilities.
Qualifications – Advantageous:
- CITB – SMSTS.
- Engineering or Construction related qualifications.
Experience – Essential for the role:
- Experience delivering projects from design through to completion.
- Experience delivering building services, fabric, and civils projects.
- Experience delivering projects within a self‑delivery, and/or contractor delivery model.
- Experience delivering projects within a facilities management environment.
