Prestonfield House, one of Scotland's most exclusive luxury hotels and holder of the AA's supreme accolade of Five Red Stars, is seeking a Polishing Room Porter to join its dedicated team.
Built in 1687 by the King's architect Sir William Bruce as the private residence of Edinburgh's Lord Provost, Prestonfield today is celebrated for its opulent interiors and historic grandeur. With 18 individually designed bedrooms, 5 luxurious suites, 3 historic private dining rooms, the celebrated Rhubarb restaurant, and the circular Georgian Stables Ballroom, Prestonfield is renowned for its heritage, elegance, and award-winning hospitality
Our package includes:
- The on-target earning potential for this role is £35,120 per annum, comprising a base salary of £29,120 (based on £14.00 per hour, working 40hours per week) plus a substantial share of staff gratuities estimated at £6,000 per annum (paid monthly)
- Full-time permanent contract working 40hours per week

As a Polishing Room Porter, you will play an important part in maintaining the high standards of presentation expected at Prestonfield.Working in our newly refurbished polishing room you will be responsible for washing, drying and polishing crockery and glassware, ensuring everything is clean and ready for use across our restaurant, kitchen and private dining rooms.
Attention to detail is essential, as you will help ensure our teams have beautifully presented crockery and glassware ready for every service. You will also be responsible for keeping the polishing room clean, tidy and organised, handling items with care and ensuring everything is stored correctly.
Candidates should have good communication skills and ability to work individually and as part of our team. Previous experience is beneficial however we will provide extensive training and will help you to develop your skills in a nurturing environment.
