This is a fantastic opportunity to continue the drive for excellence in a school with some of the strongest student outcomes in Somerset – both in terms of academic achievement and progression onto meaningful post-16 education and training. In September 2025, our outcomes placed Preston among the top three schools in Somerset for Attainment 8. However, we see this as just the beginning of our journey to consistently embed outstanding outcomes across the school.
Based in the heart of Somerset, the successful applicant will benefit from beautiful surroundings, a strong commitment to continued professional development and join a welcoming and supportive staff community.
What We Are Looking For:
- The ability to rapidly respond to changing student behaviour through the school’s on call system and around the site, deescalating behaviour and ensuring students are ready to return to their learning promptly.
- The ability to run small group interventions, focussed on improving engagement, behaviour, welfare and/or student attainment.
- The ability to oversee the school’s isolation room for around an hour each day, ensuring students make good progress in their learning, communicating effectively with teachers when needed.
- The ability to provide administrative support to a designated Head of Year.
- An absolute commitment to the school’s vision; To Achieve Excellence, by Inspiring Ambition – For Every Student, Every Day.
Before looking for potential external applicants, we would like to explore potential interest in current internal employees.
What We Offer:
- A school ranked in the top 3 in Somerset for academic attainment in the last academic year.
