Revenues Officer NNDR (Grade 5)

Permanent Full Time - 37 hours per week

£26,284 - £28,142 per annum

Based in Lancaster

Due to the needs of the Shared Service, an opportunity has arisen to recruit to a Revenues Officer post in the Business Rate team, based at Lancaster, on a permanent basis.

This is a high performing team, whose responsibility for the collection of income promptly and efficiently has become crucial to the Council, given the impact of Government funding arrangements.

Duties include:

  • Dealing with business customers, by phone, correspondence and in person in relation to the administration, billing and collection of Business Rates.
  • Work as part of a team administering recovery procedures and attend Magistrates Court as required.
  • Deal with information from other sources affecting liability, verify and process relief applications and maintain an online computerised system.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, self‑motivated person who can manage their own workload, to join this small but successful team. Good communication and numerical skills together with a customer care attitude are considered a necessity for this post.
