As the Council is a Foundation Living Wage Employer, you will be paid at Foundation Living Wage as a minimum, currently £25,949 per annum pro rata.
Following a review of budget and service delivery within the Contact Centre, we are looking to recruit a Trainee Customer Service Advisor. The position is to cover maternity leave working 25 hours per week commencing 27th July 2026. The working pattern is Monday 9am-4.30pm, Wednesday 9am-2.30pm, Thursday 8.30am-2pm and Friday 9am-4.30pm.
The Contact Centre team is a high performing one who deliver a range of services both face to face and over the telephone with an emphasis on resolving customer issues first time round. As the “face” of the council, the Contact Centre is crucial to the reputation of Preston City Council.
Duties include:
- To deal with members of the public by telephone, correspondence and face to face as required.
- To provide excellent service by establishing the needs of the customer and taking appropriate steps to meet those needs.
- To promote a positive image of the Council working as part of an integrated team.
We are looking for enthusiastic, self-motivated people who can demonstrate an ability to deal directly with the public and work as a member of a team.
