Preston City Council are looking to recruit an enthusiastic Landscape Designer to join our Parks Development Team (PDT) of experienced Landscape Architects. As part of the PDT, your role will be to provide professional landscape design support to a variety of the Council's functions, including:
- Design and delivery of landscape projects
- Open space and play areas
- Development management and strategic planning
Your responsibilities will include protecting, maintaining, and enhancing landscape and cityscape character, quality, and local distinctiveness, as well as promoting quality spaces across the City.
You will facilitate the delivery of key work programmes relating to:
- Play areas
- Skate parks
- Recreational facilities
This will involve ensuring effective community engagement, project management, procurement, and delivery, as well as managing the council's play areas refurbishment programme.
An ability to work independently as well as part of a team is essential, along with good organisational skills and the ability to manage your own workload and time. This role will see you come into contact with members of the public, partners, contractors, suppliers, planners, and councillors, so excellent communication skills are a must.
