The predicted salary is between 28598 - 30024 £ per year.

We are looking for a suitable person to help deliver the Council’s Cemetery and Crematorium Service. You will be mainly based at the Crematorium, operating the cremators and undertaking chapel and grounds maintenance duties. You will also work at the Cemetery, carrying out memorial safety inspections and ensuring that burials are carried out in accordance with the Cemetery Regulations.

A good standard of general education and an ability to undertake the physical work of cremating and grounds maintenance is essential. Training will be provided in the operation of the cremators and you will be required to study for a BTEC level qualification in cremator operation and practice.

An ability to deal with people in a caring and compassionate manner is also essential, as well as experience in landscape and grounds maintenance to keep the crematorium grounds in excellent condition and an area of tranquillity for anyone visiting to pay their respects.

Contracted hours are 37 hours per week plus some weekend working, predominantly on a rota basis.
