We are looking for an enthusiastic plants' person to join our grounds maintenance team at Avenham & Miller Park. Your primary role within this team will be to assist the Assistant Head Gardener and Head Gardener to produce the annuals, perennials and shrubs needed for use across the City's parks and open spaces. Therefore, practical experience of glasshouse/nursery production and plant propagation techniques will be essential.
You will also assist the parks team in this Grade II listed park with a wide range of gardening and cleansing duties when required, including:
- Planting schemes
- Shrub pruning
- Litter picking
- Emptying bins
The role will require weekend working (usually as part of watering rota). The applicant must be able to work well unsupervised or in a team. Good written communication and financial skills are also important aspects of the role.
This is a full-time position of 37 hours a week. A full driving license will be an essential part of the post.
