Pest Control Technician
Permanent, Full Time – 37 hours per week
Salary - £27,711 - £29,093 per annum (pay award pending)
Preston City Council is one of very few Local Authorities still providing a pest control service that is free at point of use. This vital service provides residents with a means to control and eliminate rats, mice and cockroaches without needing to pay. This service protects health, property and provides peace of mind for those who find their homes infested.
The team also operates a number of commercial contracts with local businesses, as well as undertaking sewer baiting in conjunction with United Utilities to control rodent populations across the City.
Applications are invited from professional, trustworthy and community-minded individuals. Experienced pest controllers are welcome, and those new to the occupation will be supported to complete training, which includes shadowing experienced colleagues as well as classroom-based training sessions, to gain a CRRU accredited qualification within 4 months of joining.
The job requires working some unsociable hours on occasional weekends, for which overtime will be paid.
