An ambitious and fast-growing Yorkshire estate agency at Preston Baker, we don’t believe estate agency is a “sit and wait” industry. We are a fast-paced, highly proactive business focused on delivering exceptional customer service, strong communication, and outstanding results for our clients. We are looking for an ambitious, energetic, and highly motivated Senior Sales Negotiator to join our York branch, working closely alongside our Branch Manager to help drive performance, instructions, and sales.

This role would suit someone with a proven background in sales — ideally estate agency, although strong sales experience from another sector will absolutely be considered. If you enjoy building relationships, negotiating deals, speaking with people all day, generating opportunities, and thrive in a target-driven environment, we would love to hear from you.

The Role

As a Senior Sales Negotiator, you will play a key role in the day-to-day running of the branch and in supporting the Branch Manager with delivering exceptional results. This is not a standard “9–5” role. Estate agency requires flexibility, urgency, and commitment to clients. Some days will start early, finish late, and move at pace — adaptability and a strong work ethic are essential. A major part of this role will involve proactively generating new valuation opportunities and instructions for the branch. You must be confident speaking to prospective clients both over the telephone and face-to-face within the local community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing incoming telephone and online enquiries professionally and confidently
  • Registering and qualifying applicants to company standards
  • Maintaining regular contact with motivated buyers and nurturing relationships
  • Conducting accompanied viewings
  • Arranging viewings and market appraisal appointments
  • Proactively generating sales market appraisals through outbound telephone activity
  • Generating valuation opportunities through leaflet dropping and local canvassing
  • Supporting targeted canvassing campaigns following new instructions and sales agreed
  • Negotiating offers between buyers and sellers
  • Delivering detailed and structured viewing feedback to vendors
  • Providing regular marketing and sales updates to sellers
  • Progressing agreed sales through to exchange of contracts
  • Working closely with solicitors, mortgage brokers, buyers, and sellers to keep transactions moving
  • Participating in daily morning meetings and performance reviews
  • Hand-delivering marketing materials where appropriate
  • Assisting the Branch Manager in driving branch performance and customer service standards
  • Undertaking additional tasks as directed by management

What We’re Looking For

  • Previous experience in a sales-focused environment
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills
  • Highly motivated and target-driven
  • Confident speaking with clients both face-to-face and over the phone
  • Comfortable with proactive outbound prospecting and canvassing activity
  • Organised with excellent attention to detail
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Preferred

  • Experience progressing property sales
  • Knowledge of the York property market

What You’ll Get

  • Competitive basic salary £28,000 - £32,000 basic depending on experience
  • Uncapped commission structure - anticipated OTE to be £40,000 - £44,000 uncapped
  • Career progression opportunities within a growing business
  • Ongoing training and development
  • Supportive and energetic team environment
  • The opportunity to work within a highly respected Yorkshire estate agency brand

Location: York, North Yorkshire

Working Hours: Full-time including some weekend working on a rota basis. Flexibility outside standard office hours will occasionally be required to meet customer needs.
