Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Upholsterer role based in High Wycombe. The Upholsterer will prepare, cut, and fit fabrics and materials for a variety of furniture and seating projects, including new builds and refurbishments. Day-to-day tasks include stripping and re-covering furniture, measuring and cutting materials, sewing and finishing seams, fitting foams and padding, and ensuring all pieces meet quality and safety standards. The role also involves working from drawings or specifications, maintaining tools and equipment, collaborating with colleagues to meet project timelines, and keeping the workspace organized and safe.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in upholstery techniques, including stripping, padding, and re-covering furniture.
• Experience working with seating and furniture projects, with an understanding of structural support and comfort.
• Skill in tapestry or decorative upholstery work, with attention to patterns and visual detail.
• Strong sewing abilities, including hand stitching and machine sewing for durable and neat finishes.
• Previous experience in an upholstery workshop or related trade is highly beneficial.
• Ability to read and follow technical drawings, measurements and specifications accurately.
• Strong attention to detail, manual dexterity, and a commitment to high-quality workmanship.
• Reliable, able to work on-site full-time in High Wycombe, and capable of handling the physical aspects of the role.
