We are working with a privately owned law firm, established for almost 30 years, with an excellent reputation across the areas of law in which they practise. As part of their continued growth, the firm is looking to strengthen its Housing Disrepair department and is seeking an experienced Housing Disrepair Paralegal to join the team.
The successful candidate will have a solid understanding of housing law and hands-on experience managing claimant housing disrepair matters, including exposure to the litigation process.
Key Responsibilities:- Managing a caseload of housing disrepair matters under supervision
- Liaising with clients, landlords, managing agents and other third parties
- Assisting with investigations into housing disrepair claims, including gathering evidence and documentation
- Drafting legal documents, correspondence and court paperwork
- Supporting solicitors with litigation matters, including preparation for hearings
- Assisting with negotiations and settlement discussions
- Providing a high standard of client care throughout the lifecycle of each case
- Previous experience working within housing disrepair and/or landlord and tenant law
- A good understanding of housing law and relevant procedures
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively within a team
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
- A client-focused approach with the ability to manage sensitive matters professionally
