The Opportunity
I'm working exclusively with a well-established IT and communications provider based in the Midlands — a business that has been delivering technology solutions to UK companies for over 30 years. They're not a reseller. They're a genuine end-to-end technology partner, and they're looking for a BDM/Account Manager to join their growing commercial team.
What makes this role stand out? You walk in on day one with a warm account base of 100 to 150 existing clients. This isn't a cold-start role — the foundations are already there. Your job is to retain, grow, and develop those accounts while also bringing in new business alongside them.
The Company
This is a business with serious heritage, serious partnerships, and a support function that actually backs its sales team up. They cover the full technology stack — connectivity and networking, unified communications, managed IT, cybersecurity, Microsoft 365, business mobiles, and more. One provider, one point of contact for the client, and a product set wide enough that you'll rarely be stuck for a reason to have a conversation.
The Role
- Manage and grow a portfolio of 100 to 150 existing accounts from day one
- Identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities across the full product portfolio
- Win new business alongside your account base — this is a hybrid role
- Build strong long-term relationships with SME and mid-market clients
- Work closely with technical and support teams to deliver the right solutions
What They're Looking For
- Proven B2B sales experience — telecoms, IT, MSP or cloud background strongly preferred
- Comfortable managing an existing account base as well as hunting new business
- Strong relationship builder who sells on value, not just price
- Midlands-based and happy to be field-based when required
- Self-motivated, organised, and able to hit the ground running
The Package
- Up to £35,000 basic salary (dependent on experience)
- Car allowance
- Commission on retained and new business — uncapped
- 100 to 150 warm accounts handed over from day one
- Established, stable business with genuine career progression
