About Our Client

Our client is a small, nurturing, and forward-thinking residential childcare provider committed to helping children and young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD) achieve stability, growth, and brighter futures. Their new 2-bed children’s home in Crumpsall, North Manchester offers a safe, therapeutic, and family-style environment where young people can thrive. They are now seeking an experienced and passionate Registered Manager to lead the team and shape the culture and success of this home from the ground up.

The Role

As the Registered Manager, you will be responsible for the effective leadership and day-to-day management of the home, ensuring that we deliver the highest standards of care in line with Ofsted and Children’s Homes Regulations 2015. You will:

  • Lead, develop, and inspire a small team of dedicated residential support workers.
  • Create and maintain a safe, supportive, and child-centred environment.
  • Develop and implement individualised care and placement plans.
  • Oversee compliance, safeguarding, and quality assurance processes.
  • Work collaboratively with Ofsted, local authorities, and external agencies.
  • Manage budgets, staffing, and rotas effectively.
  • Drive continuous improvement with a focus on achieving “Good” and “Outstanding” Ofsted outcomes.

About You

They are looking for someone who shares their belief that every child deserves safety, care, and opportunity. You will bring:

  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or working towards).
  • Proven experience as a Registered Manager or Deputy Manager in a children’s residential setting (EBD experience essential).
  • Strong understanding of Ofsted inspection frameworks and regulations.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • A trauma-informed and therapeutic approach to supporting children and staff.
  • Passion, resilience, and commitment to achieving the best outcomes for young people.
