We are recruiting Female Complex Carers to provide high-quality, person-centred care to individuals with complex healthcare needs in the CH65 area. This role requires skilled care, confident clinical awareness, and compassionate support across a range of complex conditions and daily living requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide skilled complex care in line with care plans, risk assessments, and current best practice
- Support with spinal injury care, including awareness and management of autonomic dysreflexia
- Deliver care for individuals with brain injury, ensuring safety, dignity, and effective communication
- Provide tracheostomy care, including:
- Suctioning
- Cough assist
- Monitoring and supporting airway clearance and comfort
- Support ventilation and respiratory needs, including:
- Ventilation
- Oxygen Therapy
- Assist with seizure management, including following agreed protocols for seizures
- Support bowel management routines as directed by care plans
- Support nutrition and hydration needs, including:
- PEG feeding
- NG tube feeding
- Manage catheter-related care: catheter care and monitoring
- Maintain accurate records and communication with the team and families as appropriate
- Ensure safe moving and handling, infection prevention/control, and medication adherence (where applicable)
Essential Requirements / Skills:
- Experience or training relevant to complex care and the conditions listed below
- Competence or demonstrated capability with the following (as required by the service):
- Spinal injury (including autonomic dysreflexia)
- Brain injury
- Tracheostomy
- Bowel management
- Cough assist
- Seizures
- Ventilation
- Oxygen therapy
- Suctioning
- PEG feeding
- Catheter
- NG tube
- Ability to work reliably on 12-hour shifts
- Strong attention to detail and calm, professional decision-making
- Commitment to dignity, safeguarding, and person-centred care
