We are seeking an experienced female Care Worker to provide 8-hour shifts, 7 days per week in the PO8 area. The role is focused on delivering high-quality complex care support for a service user with multi-faceted clinical and mobility needs, ensuring safety, comfort, and dignity at all times.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide hands-on complex care support during 8-hour shifts, 7 days per week.
  • Deliver care in line with the service user's support plan and agreed care protocols, including:
    • Regular suctioning
    • Chest physiotherapy as required
    • Home oxygen administration as required
    • Apnoea management
    • PEG feeding
    • Seizure management
    • Double incontinence support, including awareness of recurrent UTIs
    • Support safe mobility and transfers, including:
      • Full hoist transfers requiring 2 carers
      • Care for contractures to both knees
      • Management of very stiff hips
      • Support with limited tolerance when sitting in a wheelchair due to discomfort
  • Maintain safe working practices, infection control, and accurate documentation of care delivered.
  • Promote independence where possible, while ensuring comfort and safety throughout the shift.

Requirements

  • Must be female (to meet the personal care needs of the service user).
  • Experience working in complex care and/or supporting individuals with high-acuity needs (suctioning, oxygen, PEG feeding, seizures).
  • Experience and confidence with hoist transfers and working with two-car transfers.
  • Understanding of continence care and safeguarding with awareness of recurrent UTIs.
  • Ability to follow care plans and respond appropriately to changing care needs.
  • Strong communication skills and a calm, professional approach under pressure.
